The Gudiance Services department at GCCTC cooperates with participating school district counselors to coordinate guidance and support services for students. The purpose of guidance services is to assist students in becoming successful students in school, at work and in their communities. Individual and group counseling is available to help students plan their career paths, prepare for employment or higher education and become self-disciplined and reliant. Linkages to postsecondary schools, military recruiters and other agencies can also be made through the counselor. Students will review their Career Plan with the guidance counselor and parents are encouraged to discuss their child's post-high school plans. The following is available in the Guidance Office:

Student Assitance Program (SAP) In Pennsylvania , every middle and high school and some elementary schools have a Student Assistance Program (SAP). A team of school staff is here to help your child through difficult times. If you feel that your child may need help, call your child's school and ask to speak with a member of the Student Assistance Program team. Someone will be there to help. The SAP Team will request that you sign a permission form for your child to become involved in the program. Participation is voluntary. For more information contact the GCCTC Guidance Counselor.
